The Nepali climbing team is set to travel to China to participate in the Asian qualifiers and world championships for the 20th Asian Games to be held in Japan. Tenzing Bertin Rai and Raunak Upreti will compete in the men's category and Swastika Chaudhary in the women's category from Nepal in both competitions. The Asian Climbing Championship will be held in Misan, China from April 8 to 12. Nepal will participate in the bouldering and lead categories in this competition.

Nepal Climbing Sport Association General Secretary Santosh Maden informed that to secure a place in the 20th Asian Games to be held in Japan, they will have to place in the top 16.

The World Climbing Series will be held in Keqiao, China from May 1 to 3. It includes only the bouldering category.

The association has stated that the players will participate in training during the period between the two competitions. Nepal Olympic Committee President Jeevan Ram Shrestha bid farewell to the Nepali climbing team going to China on Saturday.
