Udayapur's Basah Club has won the third edition of the International Invitational Krishna Prasad Bhattarai Memorial Gold Cup with a 1-0 win over Lohrung Football Club.
Captain Ritesh Tamang scored the goal to help Basah win the title in the final match held on Sunday at the Janata Multiple Campus playground in Itahari. Tamang's goal in the 26th minute of the second half was decisive for Basah, who failed to score in the first half of the competitive match.

Ritesh Tamang was declared the best player and highest scorer of the competition. He received a cash prize of Rs 20,000 for being the best player and Rs 13,000 for being the highest scorer.
Basah's Sandeep Bhattarai was declared the best goalkeeper, Manjil Khadka the best defense and Keshav Rai the best coach. Lohrung's Bivek Rai was declared the best midfielder, while Sabin Ghimire of the host The Young Brothers Club was declared the emerging player.
All the best in the category received a prize of Rs 13,000 each. Basah defeated the host The Young Brothers in the second semi-final, while Sankhuwasabha's Lohrung defeated the defending champion Kerabari Football Club in the first semi-final to reach the final.
The winner and runner-up of the competition, which was organized by Itahari Sub-metropolitan City and sponsored by the Koshi Province Sports Development Board, were awarded prizes by Mahesh Parajuli, Chief Administrative Officer of Itahari Sub-metropolitan City, Ganesh Dulal, Principal of Bishwa Adarsh College, Subash Hamal, Deputy Superintendent of Police of the Area Police Office, Itahari, among others. 8 teams, including 1 Indian, participated in the competition, which started on 30 Falgun.
