The Prime Minister's (PM) Cup Men's National Cricket Tournament, which will be played simultaneously in Janakpur and Birgunj, is starting from Saturday. The inaugural match of the PM Cup will be played at the proposed Ramjanaki International Multi-Purpose Cricket Stadium in Janakpur.

Madhesh Province's Sports and Social Welfare Minister Basant Kushwaha will inaugurate the PM Cup. A match will be played between Karnali and Lumbini Province in Birgunj on Saturday itself.
Three departmental teams from seven provinces - Nepal Club, Nepal APF Club and Tribhuvan Army Club - will compete in the PM Cup. The PM Cup, which will run until April 3, is a one-day tournament of CAN. The PM Cup will have 17 matches including the opening match in Janakpur and the final match will be held in Birgunj with 18 matches, informed tournament director Akash Pandey.
All three pitches at the Ramjanaki Cricket Ground in Janakpur have been prepared for the PM Cup. Pandey said that the cricket ground in Janakpur is ready for the PM Cup. ‘All three pitches have been prepared by using rollers,’ Pandey said, ‘Arrangements have been made for spectators to sit outside the boundaries around the cricket ground where the game will be played.’
The opening matches of the competition will also be held at two grounds in Mulpani, Kathmandu. The winner will receive 10 lakhs and the runner-up 5 lakhs, CAN said in a statement on Friday.
