Arjun Budha of Dolpa and Purnalakshmi Neupane of Karnali won the first place in the first open men's and women's cross-country Devikot race competition organized on Friday to mark the establishment day of Rapti Rural Municipality.
Budha won the first place in the competition by completing the race in 25 minutes 44.7 seconds. Chandra Rawat of Jumla came second in 34 minutes 41.6 seconds and Yubaraj Budha of Jumla came third in 36 minutes 51.9 seconds.
Similarly, Vishal Kumar Mahat of Tulsipur, Dang, came fourth in 40 minutes 04.2 seconds, Sanjay Shrestha of Gorkha came fifth in 41 minutes 17.3 seconds and Akkal Pal of Darchula came sixth in 41 minutes 17.5 seconds.
In the women's category, Purnalakshmi Neupane of Karnali won the first place by completing the race in 48 minutes 03.01 seconds. Kalpana Budha of Karnali came second in 50 minutes 39.03 seconds and Sandeva Budha of Jumla came third in 52 minutes 24.2 seconds.
Similarly, Suntali Pandey of Jumla came fourth in 58 minutes 18.1 seconds, Saraswati Bhattarai of Sudurpaschim came fifth in 58 minutes 06.4 seconds and Antima Budha of Jumla came sixth in 59 minutes 21.6 seconds.
