In the first match held on Friday, Mehendra Morang defeated Dharan's Purbanchal Engineering Campus by 44 runs to secure a place in the last four. Batting first after winning the toss, Mehendra Morang scored a strong total of 195 runs for the loss of 7 wickets in the stipulated 20 overs. Ashish Mandal batted aggressively for the team and scored 60 runs in 29 balls. He led the team to a high score by hitting fours and sixes. Sagar Mochi contributed 36 runs in 24 balls and Atal Shah contributed 22 runs in 16 balls. Purbanchal's bowlers Lawis Bhandari and Kashiram Sanjyal took 3 wickets each, but could not save the team from a big score.
Chasing a target of 196 runs to win, Purbanchal Engineering Campus could only score 151 runs in 20 overs for the loss of 8 wickets. Kashiram Sanjyal played a quick innings of 48 runs in 21 balls, but it was not enough for the victory. Biswas Sapkota scored 30 and Ajit Kumar scored 26 runs. The bowlers of Mahendra Morang, who bowled with sharp bowling, looked impressive. Prateek Pokharel took 2 wickets for just 11 runs in 4 overs. In the second and final quarter-final match held on Friday, Aastha College of Jhapa Damak defeated BP Koirala Institute of Health Sciences of Dharan and set a journey to the last four. At the Janata Park Sports Ground in Itahari, Aastha College, which won the toss and elected to bat first, scored 137 runs in 19.4 balls, losing all their wickets. Bhupal Dangal played a brilliant innings of 79 runs for Aastha. He hit 10 fours and 3 sixes in 56 balls. Ashish Rana scored 18 runs while Himanshu Giri scored 10 runs. In reply, the BP Koirala Institute of Health Sciences team, which was chasing a winning target of 138 runs, was bundled out for 119 runs in 18.3 balls, losing all their wickets. Bhupal Dangal was declared the man of the match in that match.
Both the semi-finals of the tournament will be held on Saturday. The first semi-final will be between Itahari's Bishwa Adarsh and Namuna College, while the second semi-final will be between Mehendra Morang Adarsh Multiple Campus and Aastha College, informed tournament coordinator Gaurav Katuwal. The final match of the tournament, organized by the champion team of Koshi Premier League Season 2, Namuna College's Namuna Blasters, will be held on Sunday. The winning team of the tournament will receive a cash prize of Rs 30,000 and the runner-up team will receive a trophy along with a cash prize of Rs 15,000.
