In the third quarterfinal on Monday, the host team was eliminated from the quarterfinal stage by losing 5-4 goals in a penalty shootout to Pokhara's Laligurans Football Association Club Pokhara.
The match was pushed to extra time after neither team could score in the scheduled 90 minutes of the match at the Dharan Stadium. The match was decided by a penalty shootout after neither team scored in the extra time, which was only 15 minutes long due to lack of time.
In the penalty shootout, Dharan captain Dorje Tamang's shot was saved by Laligurans goalkeeper Kumbh Deuba, securing Laligurans a place in the semifinals.
Deuba was declared the man of the match and received a cash prize of Rs 10,000. Dharan's Nagen Rai, Prajwal Thapa, Vivek Rai and Sabin Rai's shots were converted into goals.
