The Bikash Shield National Deaf Eleven-A-Side Football Tournament is starting today, Sunday, at the Dasharath Stadium.

Eight teams from seven provinces will compete in the two-day competition. The organizers, Sundar Dhoka Satisheva, have informed that 1-1 teams from 6 provinces and two teams from Bagmati Province will be included. There will be four matches on the first day. There will be four matches on the second day, including the final on Monday. The winning team of the

competition will receive a trophy and a prize of 50,000 rupees, the runner-up 40,000 rupees, and the third-place team 30,000 rupees. The best players in each category will receive 5,000 rupees each. Bijata Luintel Adhikari, executive director of the

organizing organization, said that the aim of this competition is to identify football players with deaf disabilities and create an environment for them to participate in national and international deaf football competitions. Rivesh Shrestha of the National Deaf Football Association, one of the

organizers, has informed about the technical aspects of the competition. According to him, the 1-hour match will have two halves of 30 minutes each. Referee support will be provided by ANFA.

Only those who have a disability identity card, have a hearing loss of at least 55 decibels, are 18 years of age, and are physically fit will be allowed to participate.

Program Manager Gyan Narayan Shrestha informed that Sundar Dhoka Sathi Sewa has been organizing national-level competitions in various categories of disability sports every two years and said that deaf football was organized this time. He said that an estimated budget of 3.8 million 3 thousand will be spent for the competition. The organizers will make all arrangements for the jersey sets, transportation, accommodation, and food for all participating players.
