Three teams each from the hosts The Excelsior and Kasthamandap Vidyalaya have reached the finals of the 12th Excelsior Cup.
Excelsior reached the finals in U-9 and U-13 boys' futsal and senior girls' basketball. Kasthamandap's U-9, U-11 and U-13 boys' futsal teams made it to the finals.
Kasthamandap defeated Kohinoor 5-0 in the U-9 category. Anay Regmi scored a hat-trick for the winners, while Suryansh Subedi and Shlok Rimal added 1-1 each. Kasthamandap will face hosts Excelsior (Red) in the final. Excelsior (Red) defeated their own blue team 1-0.
Kasthamandap defeated Rai School 2-1 in the U-11 category to secure a title clash with John Davy. Kasthamandap's Adhiraj Shrestha and Shivankraj Bhattarai scored goals. In the other semi-final, John Davey defeated Sanskriti School 4-3 in a tiebreaker.
In U-13, Kasthamandap upset Ribs 2-1 in a tiebreaker. Kasthamandap will play Excelsior for the title. Excelsior registered a 3-1 victory over LRI. All three goals for Excelsior were made possible by Leon Gurung. LRI's Sayesh Chhetri scored 1 goal.
Ribs and New Era Academy will meet in the U-16 final. Ribs defeated Bodhisattva 3-1. Ribs' Bless Gurung scored 2 goals and Ayush KC scored 1 goal. Bodhisattva's Yograj Khadka scored one goal. New Era ended Excelsior's challenge 3-0 . New Era's Pemba Tamang and Ayush Baram scored . One goal was an own goal .
Similarly, in the senior girls' basketball, Ribs and host Excelsior reached the final on Thursday .
Ribs defeated Landermak Academy 21-9 . Nimisha Dhami scored 8 in Ribs' win. Excelsior defeated Radiant Public 19-15 with Akina Ghimire scoring 7 .
In the senior boys', Radiant Public defeated Sanskriti 55-35 and Rarahill defeated Pushpasadan 50-35 to secure a place in the final . Radiant's Susanraj Neupane scored 18 and Rarahill's Krishna scored 20 .
In the Girls U-12 category, which was included for the first time in the Excelsior Cup, Swarnim defeated Rai School 10-5 and Chandbagh defeated Excelsior 9-2 to secure a place in the finals. Swarnim's Palistha Hada scored 3 and Chandbagh's Agrabia Maharjan scored 5.
