Sudur Paschimanchal Academy (SPA) College in Dhangadhi, Kailali has become the main sponsor of the Sudur Paschimanchal provincial cricket team.
The college and the Sudurpaschim Provincial Cricket Association signed a three-year main sponsorship agreement on Monday.
SPA College Managing Director Subash Shahi and Sudurpaschim Provincial Cricket Association President Vasudev Joshi signed the agreement.
The agreement states that male and female cricket players representing the Sudurpaschim Province will be able to study at SPA College on 100 percent scholarship. Similarly, it is stated that players representing different districts of the province and participating in regional competitions will receive 50 percent scholarship facilities.
SPA College Director Shahi said that this agreement was signed with the aim of ensuring that talented players do not miss out on education due to financial constraints. He said, “Through this collaboration, we aim to further strengthen the development, promotion, management and player production of cricket in the Sudurpaschim Province.”
He said that this collaboration with the Sudurpaschim Provincial Cricket Association will further strengthen the future of Nepali cricket. Joshi, President of the Sudurpaschim Provincial Cricket Association, said that this partnership will inspire talented players from the province to perform well in the national competition.
‘As SPA College will provide the necessary financial support for the operation of various provincial-level cricket activities for the next three years, it will be of great help in making Sudurpaschim a cricket-rich region,’ he said. ‘In the coming days, we will focus on producing new players along with grassroots level activities.’ Director Shahi informed that currently more than 17 international-level cricket players are associated with SPA College.
