In the open singles event where local national players can participate, Vipul and Arsana won the men's and women's singles events, respectively.
In the men's final of the tournament held at the host ward 6 in Kanibahal, Lalitpur Metropolitan City, Vipul defeated Dicken Maharjan of ward 7 in sets of 14-12, 11-6, 2-11, 7-11, 12-10. Kushal Nyachho of ward 19 and Sunil Maharjat of ward 12 came third.
In the women's final, Arsana defeated Pamila Joshi of ward 20 in sets of 11-8, 11-7, 7-11 and 11-4. Suramya Shakya of ward 8 and Saira Shakya of ward 16 came third.
In the local people's representative men's singles final, Juwan Tandukar of ward 11 defeated Amar Dangol of ward 20 in sets of 9-11, 11-8, 11-8, 11-7 to win the gold. Krishna Maharjan of Ward 11 and Shailendra Shakya of Ward 20 came third. This competition has been added for the first time.
Sanskar Ratna Vajracharya of Ward 6, Swaisib Dangol of Ward 19, Rejin Shakya of Ward 11, Yara Maharjan of Ward 9, Sachet Shrestha of Ward 19, Yukti Karmacharya of Ward 8 and Rujal Maharjan of Ward 20 were declared emerging players in the competition.
Ward 16 became the team champion with the most 5 gold medals in the night competition consisting of 17 different events. The next edition of the competition will be organized by Ward 21. The total prize money of the competition, which has cash prizes in all 17 events, is Rs 425,000.
The winners were awarded by Lalitpur Metropolitan City Deputy Mayor Manjali Shakya Vajracharya, Chairman of the organizer Ward 6, Rupendra Raj Shakya, and others.
