The host Nepal Police School Dharan (Red) has won the title in the seventh edition of the Koshi Provincial Level Inter-School DIGP Running Cup Football Competition-2082.

Police School won the title by defeating Prabhat Secondary Boarding School of Dharan by 1-0 in the final match held at the Nepal Police Provincial Office playground in Dharan-13 on Saturday. The first goal scored by Bikash Magar of Nepal Police School in the 7th minute of the first half of the match turned out to be the decisive goal. He was also declared the Man of the Match of the final match and received a cash prize of Rs. 1,005.

The winner Police School also received a cash prize of Rs. 81,000, a medal and a certificate along with the title trophy. The runner-up Prabhat School was satisfied with the trophy, cash prize of Rs. 41,000, a medal and a certificate. Samir Rai of Police School was declared the best player of the tournament. He received a trophy and a cash prize of Rs. 3,005. Samir, who scored 5 goals throughout the tournament, was declared the high scorer and received a cash prize of Rs. 2,005.

Similarly, Sagar Karki of Police School, Best Midfielder Nemsang Rai of Prabhat School, Best Defender Rhythm Pandey of Prabhat School, Best Goalkeeper Sonahang Rai of Police School and Emerging Player Yarin Bhujel of Police School (Blue) were declared the best coach. They each received a cash prize of Rs 2,005.

In addition, Kantipur journalist Elina Rai was declared the best journalist and honored with a cash prize of Rs 5,005 and a certificate for her active role and contribution in the development, promotion and competition of the sports sector in the DIGP Running Cup, making Dharan Sunsari her work area.

The DIGP Cup, which started in 2058 BS, was held until the sixth edition and was stopped after 2063 BS. The host Police School, which was re-run after about 19 years, became the new champion by playing in the final for the first time in the competition. When it was held until the sixth edition, Depot Secondary School in Dharan-18 had won the title 5 times, while Radhika Secondary School in Urlabari, Morang had won the title once.
