A training program on 'Sports for Health' has been organized in Bidur Municipality of Nuwakot. The Nepal Olympic Committee has organized these workshops and trainings in collaboration with the International Olympic Committee and in coordination with the Path organization.

The programs were held in Bidur Municipality on Thursday and Likhu Rural Municipality on Friday. The main objective of the program is to strengthen the capacity of teachers and school nurses and to prevent non-communicable diseases and bring health awareness through sports.

Olympic Committee Vice-Chairman Chaturananda Raj Baidya and Secretaries Ramkrishna Shrestha and Ramesh Shiwakoti participated in the program as resource persons. On that occasion, they emphasized the need for support in implementing health-related programs based on sports in the community.

The Nepal Olympic Committee plans to conduct the 'Sports for Health' program in other districts as well. In the process, the objective is to reach out to local and school health workers and provide training on increasing health awareness through sports.
