Nepal's para taekwondo player Renu Tamang will compete in the Asian Youth Para Games to be held in Dubai, UAE, from November 21 to 28.

Renu, who is undergoing special training for Mission-2026 run by the National Sports Council, is competing in the under-47 kg weight category of the K-44 category. The coach is international level two coach Kaviraj Negi Lama. The Nepali team will leave for Dubai on Monday night. She will compete on Mangsir 26.

Renu had previously participated in the 10th Asian Para Taekwondo held in Malaysia. She won gold in the 13th Korean Ambassador Taekwondo Championship.

Under the coaching of coach Negi, who has succeeded in bringing Nepal a historic medal in the history of Paralympics, Nepal has won 12 international medals including 3 gold, 2 silver and 7 bronze. Under his coaching, Palesha Gobardhan won gold, Srijana Ghisingh won silver, and Vishal Garbuja won bronze medals at the 2021 Asian Youth Para Games in Bahrain.

In athletics, the Youth Para Games featured male athletes Mohan Roka and Vijay Moktan, female athletes Nirmala Bhandari and Swikrit Neupane, and the coach is Basanta Bharti, while powerlifting features Manish Pun, officials Ganesh Bahadur Karki, and Kaju Siwakoti. Omnath Siwakoti is in the Safe the Mission. The team was bid farewell by National Paralympic Committee President Radha Ghale.
