Nepal has been placed in a tough group in the Twenty20 World Cup. Nepal has been placed in Group 'C' in the Twenty20 World Cup to be held in India and Sri Lanka from February 7 to March 8.

Nepal is in this group along with two-time winners West Indies, England, Bangladesh and Italy. Nepal will play England and Italy for the first time. Nepal defeated West Indies 2-1 in a three-match series in Sharjah in September.

Italy is playing its first World Cup. The Netherlands and Italy qualified for the World Cup by beating Scotland in the European qualifiers. Nepal is playing its third World Cup.

Nepal is playing Bangladesh for the third time in a row last year. Nepal also played Bangladesh in the 2014 World Twenty20 in Bangladesh and the United States and the West Indies and lost both.

The 20 participating teams have been divided into 4 groups and the top two teams will advance to the Super Eight. The Super Eight has been divided into two groups and the top two teams from each group will advance to the semi-finals.

Group ‘B’ has Australia, Sri Lanka, Zimbabwe, Ireland, Oman and Group ‘D’ has South Africa, New Zealand, Afghanistan, Canada and UAE .

India and Pakistan in the same group

India and Pakistan are in the same group . Since Pakistan refused to tour India, the match between these two nations will be held on February 15 at the R Premadasa Stadium in Colombo, Sri Lanka  . Group ‘A’ includes India and Pakistan along with the USA, Netherlands and Namibia  

The final of the Twenty20 World Cup is scheduled to be held in Ahmedabad as per the schedule . But if Pakistan reaches the final, the final match of the title clash will be held in Sri Lanka
