Ward No. 16, which is in the process of defending its title, has made a winning start in the Prayagraj Singh Suwal Memorial Inter-ward Futsal Tournament. Ward No. 16 defeated Ward No. 2 5-1 at the Lainchaur Futsal Ground on Monday.

Prince Maharjan scored two goals for Ward 16 and Bikram Shrestha scored one. Boyog Rajak and Saroj Rajak scored two goals in a suicide attempt for Ward 16.

Bujal Rajak scored one goal for Ward 2. Prince was named Man of the Match in that match. Ward 28, Ward 26 and Ward 11 won the other matches. All three matches were decided in penalty shootouts.

Ward 28 defeated Ward 21 5-4 in a tiebreaker. The match ended 1-1 in regulation time. Ronas Maharjan and Udesh Khadgi scored goals for Ward 21 and Ward 28 respectively. Siris Bajracharya of Ward 28 was named Man of the Match in that match.

Ward 26 upset Ward 31 6-5 in a tiebreaker. Both teams scored 2-2 in regulation time. Man of the Match Amul scored both goals for Ward 26, while Deepak Lama and Dipendra Singh Thakuri scored for Ward 31.

Similarly, Ward 11 defeated Ward 15 6-5 in a penalty shootout. The match ended in a 1-1 draw after regular time with goals from Shankar Dhoj of Ward 11 and Sanjeev Shrestha of Ward 15. Shankar Dhoj of the winning team won the Man of the Match award in that match.
