In the final held on Monday, Police defeated their departmental rivals APF Football Club 1-0 to lift the title. Both teams entered the field in an aggressive manner at the start of the match. In the third minute of the match, a precise cross from outside the penalty box by Police's Pooja Rana was saved by APF goalkeeper Anjana Rana Magar, and Mina Deuba's shot from the penalty area was saved.
APF also had a goal opportunity in the fifth minute. However, Nisha Thokar's shot from captain Anita Basnet's cross went over the post. In the 20th minute, Anjana saved a shot by Police's Rekha Poudel, who beat two APF defenders. However, Police took the lead in the game in the 22nd minute. Rekha's shot inside the penalty box hit the defender and the ball bounced back to Mina Deuba, who was unmarked in the penalty area. Mina gave the goalkeeper no chance and sent the ball into the net, giving Police a 1-0 lead.
In the 33rd minute, APF captain Anita missed a golden opportunity to equalize. She could not catch the direction of the post with a volley cross from Anita KC. Then, in the 38th minute, APF got a free kick after Savita Rana was tackled. But captain Anita Basnet's shot was saved by Police goalkeeper Usha Nath. In the last minute of the first half, Rekha Poudel's shot went off the post. Mina Deuba beat three players from the center area and passed to Rekha.
The game continued at an even pace in the second half. In the 62nd minute, while stopping Rekha Poudel's aggressive run, APF defender Manmaya Damai fouled and got a yellow card, giving Police a free kick opportunity. Captain Amrita Jaishi tried to score from a free kick. But the ball went off the post.
In the 84th minute, APF missed another opportunity to equalize. Rashmi Ghising passed to Renuka Nagarkoti from outside the penalty box, but Renuka's shot went wide of the goal post. Rashmi's aggressive shot was also saved by Police goalkeeper Usha Nath in the 89th minute.
Finally, Mina Deuba's goal in the 22nd minute of the game became the basis for Police's victory. Nepal Police Club achieved a historic success by winning the title with a 1-0 victory.
Along with the title, Police received a cash prize of Rs 1 million 10 thousand, a medal and a trophy. APF, which was limited to the runner-up position, received a cash prize of Rs 5 million. At the award ceremony organized after the final, Mina Deuba of Police won both the titles of best player and highest scorer. She scored 7 goals throughout the competition and became the top scorer of the Gold Cup and received Rs 25 thousand and the best player received Rs 1 lakh 50 thousand. The Player of the Match title was won by Police's Pooja Rana.
Other award winners included Best Goalkeeper Usha Nath (Police), Best Defender Manmaya Damai (APF), Best Midfielder Renuka Nagarkoti (APF), Best Forward Anita Basnet (APF), Best Coach Bhola Silwal (Police) and Emerging Player Jennifer Rana Magar (Army). All the award winners received Rs 25,000 each.
