Tahir has the experience of taking nearly 2,000 wickets in nearly 1,000 matches across all formats. The 46-year-old Pakistan-born Tahir has taken 57 wickets in 20 Tests, 173 wickets in 107 ODIs and 63 wickets in 38 T20Is. He has taken 570 wickets in 446 T20Is across all formats.
He made his international debut against the West Indies in the 2011 ODI World Cup. He took 4 wickets in that match. Janakpur Bolts said that their bowling department has become stronger after including Tahir.

Tahir has been showing his magic by playing in all franchise leagues around the world. He has played for 6 English T20 teams, 3 South African franchise teams and 3 Indian Premier League franchise teams. He has played for a total of 50 teams around the world.
Tahir is the third foreign player to be brought in by the Bolts for this season's NPL. The team has already signed Sri Lankan American cricketer Lahiru Milandha, the hero of the first edition, and veteran South African fast bowler Wayne Parnell. Bolts will take to the field this time under the head coach of West Indies cricket legend Shivnarine Chanderpaul.
