Chitlang Football Club (Kathmandu) has made a winning start to the ANFA Presidents League football tournament that began at the Gauritar Stadium in Hetauda-6. In the opening match, Chitlang defeated Deurali Youth Club by 4-1 goals.
For Chitlang, Chandan Kumar Das scored in the 32nd minute, Lahan Subba in the 47th, Vigyan Khadka in the 48th and Madan Syangtan in the 88th minute. Ramchandra Waji scored a goal for Deurali in the third minute of injury time of the second half. Jay Gurung of Chitlang was adjudged the Player of the Match. He received Rs 5,000.
In the second match, Vijay Sports Club (Kailali) and Laligurans Association Club (Kaski) shared the points by playing a goalless draw. Suraj Jung Thakuri of Laligurans was the Player of the Match. He received Rs 5,000. The tournament organized by the All Nepal Football Association (ANFA) will continue on a league-cum-knockout basis until Mangsir 2. The winner will win Rs 1 million along with a shield, while the runner-up will get Rs 5 million.
The tournament was inaugurated by All Nepal Football Association (ANFA) President Pankaj Bikram Nembang on Wednesday. The event, chaired by ANFA central member and coordinator Tikaram Lama, was attended by ANFA General Secretary Kiran Rai and others.
