The Nepali judo team is set to leave for Bahrain on Monday to participate in the third Asian Youth Games. Although the Asian Youth Games have already begun, the judo competition will begin on October 29.

Samita Nepali will compete in the women's 44 kg under-13 category from Nepal in judo. 

Samita is a player of the Prisoners' Aid Agency (PAAM). The coach of the committee is national team member Devaki Maya Shrestha. PAAM's assistant judo coach Devaki is also a product of PAAM.

Nagarjuna Municipality Ward 1 bid farewell to the team on Sunday. Ward 1 Chairman Rameshwor Lama, Judo Chief Coach Birendra Ranjit, PAAM Executive Director and Chief Coach Suryanarayan Shrestha, and PAAM member Chabindra Shrestha bid farewell. 

On the occasion, Chairman Lama promised to personally honor Samita with a cash prize of Rs 25,000 if she wins a medal. Nepal Judo Association Chairman Deepak Harsh Vajracharya and IT expert Suprasiddha Tamrakar will also leave for Bahrain on Monday for the Asian Youth Games.
