Astronics Management, the organizer, said on Monday that 512 Nepali players have registered for the Nepal Kabaddi League (NKL) season 2 draft.

Amit Kumar Begani, head of Astronics Management, said, "278 Nepali players were registered in the NKL in the first season's draft". 5 hundred and 12 indigenous players have been registered from the application opened for the second season . That's why we have found that the craze of NKL and the attraction of the players has increased enormously.

There are 155 players from Bagmati province among the registered players for NKL season 2. Similarly, there are 103 from Far West, 98 from Lumbini, 70 from Madhesh Pradesh, 35 from Koshi, 27 from Karnali and 24 from Gandaki. In the first edition held last year, 6 teams from 6 cities took 84 players through the draft to compete in the NKL, in which the number of Nepali players was 66 .

'The attraction of foreign players has also increased tremendously . Players from many countries want to play in the NKL. We will take 40-50 foreign players in the second season draft. They will definitely be top notch," Begani said. In the first season, 18 players from four countries including Thailand, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka and Kenya came to the NKL.

NKL season 1 as a franchise team's historic tournament in Nepali Kabaddi history. It happened in January . On the basis of franchise, 6 teams from 6 cities viz Biratnagar Bandits, Janakpur Knights, Kathmandu Mavericks, Pokhara Lakers, Himalayan Raiders of Butwal and Dhangadhi Wildcats competed.

Janakpur became the NKL champion after defeating Kathmandu 43-41 in the exciting final held at Coveredhall in Tripureshwar of the National Sports Council. The two captains of the first season, Ghanshyam Magar of Kathmandu and Ganesh Parki of Himalayan Raiders, are currently busy playing in India's Pro Kabaddi League (PKL) season 12.
