Nepal has achieved a historic victory over the West Indies in Twenty20 international cricket. After excellent bowling and fielding, Nepal defeated the two-time world champions West Indies by 19 runs in the first Twenty20 international on Saturday.

After losing the toss at the Sharjahan Cricket Stadium in Sharjahan, UAE, Nepal was invited to bat and scored 148 runs by losing 8 wickets in the scheduled 20 overs. In response, West Indies lost 9 wickets and scored only 129 runs.

is Nepal's first victory in a Twenty20 international against a nation fully recognized by the International Cricket Council (ICC). Earlier, Nepal suffered 9 consecutive defeats in Twenty-20 internationals against test-recognized nations.

This victory will give Nepal a big boost in the Twenty-20 World Cup Asia Qualifiers that will start in the West Indies soon. Kushal Bhurtel gave Nepal their first success by running out opener Kayal Myers for 5 runs straight on the stumps in the second over. Jango got out after scoring 19 runs in 22 balls with 2 fours. Augusti was dismissed by Nandan Yadav for 15 runs. Augusti, who played 7 balls, hit 2 sixes.

Jewel Andrew scored only 5 runs and became a victim of captain Rohit Paudel . KC Carty played 15 balls and scored 16 runs with 1 four and a six. Bidaisi scored the highest 22 runs from the West Indies. He hit 1 four and a six off 25 balls and was a hit wicket off Bhurtel .

After Bhurtel dismissed Holder for 5 runs, Nepal came close to victory. But captain Aqeel Hussain showed the possibility of victory to the West Indies by playing aggressively in the lower order . After he scored 18 runs off 9 balls, hitting 1 four and 2 sixes, Karan was dismissed by KC .

Fabien Allen was the last player to be dismissed. In Airey's bowling, Kushal Bhurtel took a decent catch on the boundary line and dismissed Allen . He played 14 balls and scored 19 runs by hitting 3 fours. Bhurtel also excelled in bowling. He spent 17 runs in 4 overs and took 2 wickets. Dipendra, Karan, Nandan, Lalit Rajvanshi, Rohit Paudel took 1 wicket each. But Sompal Kami, who did not take any wicket, managed to spend 43 runs in 4 overs.

Earlier, despite losing opener Kushal Bhurtel for 6 runs and Asif Sheikh for 3 runs, Nepal made a good score in the first Twenty20 international series with a Test-recognised nation. Rohit scored the highest 38 runs. He played 35 balls and hit 5 fours and 1 six. He shared a partnership of 58 runs for the second wicket with Kushal Malla. Malla played 21 balls and scored 30 runs by hitting 2 fours and a six.

Gulshan Jha also hit 2 sixes and scored 22 runs in 16 balls. Dipendra hit 1 six while scoring 17 runs in 19 balls. Sandeep Zora got out in 9 runs. Karan got out on the first ball. Sompal remained unbeaten on 6 off 5 balls and Nandan on 7 runs off 2 balls.

Holder took the most 4 wickets from West Indies . He spent only 20 runs in 4 overs. Bidaisi spent 29 runs in 4 overs and took 3 wickets. The captain and Devrehate spinner Akel Hussain, who came with the opening ball, took 1 wicket after 18 runs in 4 overs.
