”Sports should be seen on the basis of nation building”

The Gen-G generation movement has raised a lot of hope in the people. Now our expectation is good clean politics, responsible government and a new and improved Nepal seen by the youth. There is a great hope that there will be no negligence in bringing justice to the martyrs of this movement and that such incidents will not be repeated in the future. For that, all parties must be aware.

Now the role of us youth is to put our hard work and dedication in nation building. Sports, education, IT, business, etc., in any field where the youth advance, the prosperity of the country will advance from there. I think, youth is a great force to bring revolution. The country should understand their importance.

I am a sports person. That's why I want to talk about this area. Keeping Nepali sports out of politics will be a great victory for sportsmen and sports. If we free sports from politics and transform it into a form of national pride, we Nepalese athletes can win many successes and medals in the international arena. Nepalese players are excellent in their abilities. They are the only ones who have not been exposed to the opportunity and the world's changing game technology.

In this way, if the youth rise up and remove corruption, corruption, dirty political culture and move the education sector forward correctly, I see that success is possible in every field, not just sports. Prioritizing merit, encouraging talent and ensuring transparent management is the way forward. Since we were in the training camp, we could not go to the front line of the Zenji movement, but as many young people as possible joined the movement with courage and were ready to give their lives for the country, 'my salute' for that. Their contribution will be immortalized forever. Personally, we as players felt proud at the end to reach the hospital for the injured and donate blood in a small way. I promise to continue my efforts to move forward in every service of the country and society.

In the last two years, I had the opportunity to visit many countries and play international tournaments. I feel that this has improved my performance as well as increased the pride of the country. Participating and competing in international competitions gives an athlete the opportunity to learn many dimensions of discipline, dedication and sports vision.

Seeing the preparation, fitness and morale of world-class players and players from other competing countries encourages me to work harder. This is something I have experienced firsthand.

While playing with the country's flag on the international platform, one can feel proud and understand the importance of national pride more deeply. It is more important than winning and losing to show your country and boost your confidence.

There are many talented players in Nepali sports and the potential is also the same. Like other countries, if Nepal keeps sports as its main attraction and moves forward, our players can also reach the world level.

It is a reality that many Nepalese players have to make personal investments to advance their careers. Only if they are successful, those athletes come under the eyes of the government. If he fails to bring success, his investment will be wasted. If success cannot be achieved once, it can be achieved again. But till then there is no one to help and support him. And there is a compulsion to go to foreign countries for livelihood. Now, if the government moves forward keeping in mind the long-term development of sports, change is possible. If we see sports as the foundation of nation building, our future is bright.

It is necessary to make sports a compulsory program from the school level. Employment, education, insurance and other opportunities should be provided to secure a long-term career for the player. Investments should be increased in the development of international level training, sports fields, equipment and technical manpower. Only by making sports administration transparent, professional and player-friendly can there be any chance of continued success at the global level. I want all parties, including the government, to fulfill their responsibilities to meet these expectations from this transformative movement of our generation. Erica  Asiad medalist karate player .
