Dembele is the sixth French player to win this award.
French forward Ousmane Dembele won the Ballon d'Or, the most prestigious award in world football, during a special event held in Paris on Monday. With the help of his important contribution, Paris Saint Germain (PSG) won the European Champions League last season.
This is the first time PSG has won the Champions League in its history. Aitana Bonmati has won the women's award for the third year in a row.
Dembé is the sixth French player to win this award. PSG beat Inter Milan 5-0 in last season's Champions League final.
Similarly, PSG also won both the French League and Cup titles. 28-year-old Dembele, who has also played for Borussia Dortmund and Barcelona, is also a member of the 2018 World Cup winning French team. Barcelona's teenage player Lamin Yamal finished second in the bid to win the award.
