West Indies have announced the team to play against Nepal for the Twenty-T20 series to be held in Sharjah, UAE, two weeks later. The 15-member team has been announced under the captaincy of Akil Hussain.
Six players in the West Indies team are making their debut in Twenty-Twenty One. Akil is the first choice player.
Jason Holder, Casey Carty, Fabien Allen, Kyle Meyers and Obed McCoy are also players who have played in the national team. Out of the 15-member team, 9 players have already made their debut in international matches.
Other such players are young players who have performed well in the domestic league and the Caribbean Premier League.
The West Indies Cricket Board, along with the team announcement, has mentioned that the reason for giving priority to new young players in this series is to build the team for the upcoming Twenty-T20 World Cup.
