In the second edition of Vatsalya Everest Women's Volleyball League held in Pokhara, former winners Karnali Yeshvis defeated Lumbini Lavaj.

Former champions Karnali defeated Lumbini 3-1 in the multi-purpose covered hall at Pokhara Stadium on Saturday. Lumbini won the first set 25-23. The subsequent sets were also very competitive. Karnali won 25-21 in the second set, 25-17 in the third set and 25-22 in the fourth set.

Lumbini was under a lot of pressure after the captain and marquee player Aruna Shahi was injured during the third set. While receiving the ball, she collided with Veronika Zubareva of her own team. After Aruna got a head injury, she remained out of the field. At this time, Karnali was leading by scoring 21-17 points. After Lumbini's players were under pressure, Karnali scored 4 consecutive points to win the set. Although the performance improved in the fourth set, it was not enough to win.

This is Karnali's second win. Karnali defeated the home team Pokhara Ninjas 3-0 in straight sets in the first match on Friday. This is the first game of Lumbini.

Today's third match continues between Madhesh United and Pokhara Ninjas. Both teams lost their first match on Friday. In the first match today, Lalitpur Queens defeated Kathmandu Spikers 3-0 in straight sets.
