Nepal 'A' won the third friendly cricket match against Assam on Saturday and took the lead in the series. Sandeep Zora's half-century inspired Nepal 'A' defeated Assam by 9 runs in the floodlights of the ACA Stadium and took a 2-1 lead in the 5-match series.

Nepal lost by 15 runs in the first match affected by rain and won the second match by 96 runs based on the Duckworth-Lewis method.

Sandeep hit 6 fours and 6 sixes. Opener Shubh Kansakar got out in 8 runs. His opening pair captain Anil Sah scored 31 runs off 20 balls with 5 fours. Tritraj Das scored 33 runs off 32 balls with 3 fours and 2 sixes. Although Basir Ahmed was dismissed for 1 run, Adil Alam Ansari scored 35 runs in 16 balls with 1 four and 4 sixes. From Assam, Akash Sen Gupta took 2 wickets for 49 runs in 4 overs and Mrunmoy Dutt, Abhinav Chaudhary and Shivshankar Roy took 1 wicket each.

Nihar Deka scored the highest 40 runs from Assam. He hit 6 fours and 1 six off 23 balls. Sumit Ghadigaonkar scored 36 off 19 balls with 3 fours and a six, Sahil Jain scored 24 runs off 21 balls with 2 fours. Abdul Aziz Quraisi scored 31 runs off 17 balls with 3 fours and 1 six.

Kamal Singh Airi, Akash Chand and Vivek Yadav took 2 wickets each from Nepal. Kamal spent 46 runs with 1 maiden in 4 overs, Akash spent 52 runs in 4 overs and Vivek spent 17 runs in 4 overs. Adil took 1 wicket.
