After Nandan Yadav took 5 wickets, Nepal got its first win in the Top End T20 cricket series being held in Australia. Defeated in three consecutive matches, Nepal defeated the Big Bass team Hobart Hurricanes Academy by 66 runs at the Calige Arena Palmerston in Durbin on Tuesday.

 

After winning the toss, Nepal chose to bat and scored 180 runs after losing 7 wickets in the scheduled 20 overs. This is the highest score made by Nepal in the competition. Nepal scored 154 runs against Bangladesh 'A'. While Nepal was struggling with batting, it was only able to score 135 runs against Northern Territory Strike and 144 runs against Melbourne Stars Academy. 

Kushal Bhurtel and Asif Shaikh added 49 runs in the first 6 overs to give Nepal a great start. Kushal scored 27 runs with 4 fours off 20 balls. Asif scored 29 runs off 28 balls with 2 fours. Captain Rohit Poudel was dismissed for 9 runs playing 11 balls. Arif Sheikh scored the highest 33 runs from Nepal.

He played 26 balls and hit 3 fours. Kushal Malla was dismissed for 6 and Karan KC for 1 run. Lokesh Bam remained unbeaten on 25 runs, hitting 3 fours and 1 six off 11 balls. Nandan, another unbeaten batsman added 1 run. Nivethan Radhakrishnan of Hurricanes took 2 wickets with 20 runs in 4 overs and Raf McMillan took 2 wickets each with 43 runs in 4 overs.

Captain Rohit dismissed Radhakrishnan for a wicket in the first over and kept the Hurricanes under pressure. Bradley Hope top scored for the Hurricanes with 31 runs. He played 36 balls and hit 1 boundary. Charlie Wakim scored 28 off 21 balls with 2 fours and 1 six, Tim Ward 13 and Jack Curtain 21 not out.

He hit 3 fours in 12 balls. In the first 3 matches, Nepal was defeated by Northern Territory Strike by 45 runs, Bangladesh 'A' by 32 runs and Melbourne Stars by 31 runs. Nepal will play their fifth match against the Melbourne Renegades Academy team on Wednesday.
