The Nepal Olympic Committee (NOC) dispute became more confusing and complicated on Tuesday. In order to allow the ad hoc committee of NOC to work, the government has opened the lock on the NOC building in Satdobato.
An ad hoc committee was formed last week under the chairmanship of Dhruv Bahadur Pradhan, former president of NOC. The government side reached Satdobato with the same team. An ad hoc committee was formed under the leadership of Jeevan Ram Shrestha, recognized by the International Olympic Committee.
The government has been calling Shrestha's NOC illegal. The government had locked the office building since the NOC elections in January. A case is also under consideration in the Supreme Court regarding this matter. Sameem Mian Ansari, the spokesperson of the ad hoc committee told the media, "The government has opened the lock to allow us to work."
When the time to send the number of athletes participating in the 20th Asian Games to be held in Japan is less than a month, the officials of the ad hoc committee entered the NOC building. This may also affect the budget management required for participation in the Asian Games.
