Nepal has won its first victory in the Top Ind T-20 cricket tournament being held in Australia. Defeated in the first 3 matches, Nepal defeated Big Bass team Hobart Hurricane Academy by 66 runs at the Calige Arena Palmerston in Durbin on Tuesday.

After winning the toss and choosing to bat, Nepal lost 7 wickets and scored 180 runs in the scheduled 20 overs. In response, Hobart was bowled out for 114 runs in 16.1 overs. Nepal by 45 runs against Northern Territory Strike in the first 3 matches,  Bangladesh 'A' was defeated by 32 runs and Melbourne Stars Academy by 31 runs.

Kushal Bhurtel and Asif Shaikh scored 49 runs in the first 6 overs to give Nepal a great start. Bhurtel played 20 balls and scored 27 runs with 4 fours. Asif played 28 balls and scored 29 runs with 2 fours. Captain Rohit Paudel was dismissed for 9 runs after playing 11 balls.

Arif Sheikh scored the highest 33 runs from Nepal. He played 26 balls and hit 3 fours. Kushal Malla was dismissed for 6 and Karan KC for 1 run. Lokesh Bomb hit 3 fours and 1 six in 11 balls and remained unbeaten in 25 runs. Another unbeaten batsman Nandan Yadav added 1 run. Hurricane's Nivethan Radhakrishnan took 20 wickets in 4 overs and Raf McMillan took 2 wickets each for 43 runs in 4 overs.

Captain Rohit dismissed Radhakrishnan for a wicket in the first over and kept the Hurricanes under pressure. Bradley Hope top scored for the Hurricanes with 31 runs. He played 36 balls and hit 1 boundary. Charlie Wakim scored 28 off 21 balls with 2 fours and 1 six, Tim Ward scored 13 runs and Jack Curtain scored 21 runs unbeaten. He played 12 balls and hit 3 fours. Nandan Yadav was the

player of the match. He took 5 wickets. He spent only 17 runs in 3 overs in Sokram. Rohit, Rijan Dhakal and Sandeep Lamichhane took 1 wicket each. Nepal will play its fifth match against the Melbourne Renegades Academy team on Wednesday.
