The Nepal Football Players Association on Tuesday submitted a memorandum to the General Secretary of All Nepal Football Association (ANFA) Kiran Rai demanding the continuation of divisional football to keep Nepali football running.

The team of Viraj Maharjan, Vikesh Kuthu under the leadership of the president of the association, Vikram Lama, submitted a memorandum to ANFA and demanded to coordinate with the participating clubs of all categories as soon as possible to proceed with the work according to the football league calendar.

The players' association has requested ANFA to take quick steps to protect the game and the future of the players. President Lama has said that even though more than two years have passed since the last A Division League, there is still confusion about the start of the next season and he has submitted a memorandum with the demand to continue the division football to keep Nepali football running.

'The ongoing confusion has had a serious and direct impact on both the players and the football community within our country. The lack of league football has left our football players who have dedicated their lives to the sport in a precarious situation. Like us, the situation of coaches, referees and thousands of others who depend on football will be the same. Due to the lack of football, many talents have been forced to leave the country in search of livelihood. This exodus is not only a loss of individual talent, it will harm national football in the long run. It has a direct impact on our level on the international stage as well," said the association's statement, "The situation where the players had to be called for trial to select the national team for the last time has further exposed this. The selection of the national team should be through competitive games. We have no choice but to join the league.'
