Nepal's karate player Sanumatha Thing has been selected for the World Karate Championship. Sanumaya will be eligible to participate in the women's singles kata at the World Championships to be held in Cairo, Egypt from November 27 to 30.

The World Karate Federation (WKF) has sent a letter to the Nepal Karate Federation and informed about the selection to play the Sanumatha World Karate Championship. It is said that his participation should be confirmed by August 9.

Sanumaya achieved fifth place in the 21st ACF Asian Senior Karate Championship held last May in Tashkent, Uzbekistan. Based on that performance, he was selected for the World Championship and this is another great achievement for Nepali karate, said his coach Mandekaji Shrestha from Kata. Nepal is going to play Karate World Championship for the first time.

Sanumaya, who won gold twice in team kata of the South Asian Karate Championship, is the national champion of kata.
