With Mohammad Siraj proving to be the hero, India scored a dramatic six-run victory over England in the fifth Test cricket on Monday. With this, the series is tied 2-2.

England had a target of 374 runs to win, but the team was bowled out for 367 runs. Fast bowler Siraj took 5 wickets with 104 runs. In Monday morning's game, he took three wickets for only 9 runs.

This is India's narrowest margin of victory in Test cricket history. "To be honest, this win was so much better. Everyone played hard from the first day to the last. So we are all happy," said Siraj, "I wanted to bowl in the right place and get wickets. The rest will be good. Siraj said that even when he wakes up in the morning, he is confident of winning.

England started playing ahead with 339 runs after losing 6 wickets. The team lost the remaining 4 wickets in 28 runs. This sensational series win was made possible in the morning game of the final day. Siraj, who took the most wickets for both teams in the entire series, took the wickets of Jamie Smith and Jamie Overton early on. With this, England lost 8 wickets and reached the position of 354 runs.

When injured player Chris Woakes came in to bat, England still needed 17 runs to win. He suffered a shoulder injury and was bandaged to protect his left arm. After Gus Atkinson hit a six, England's victory target was reduced to one point. But maintaining his best performance in the series, Siraj bowled Watkinson for 17 runs.

With this, the Indian players and supporters present at the Oval in South London were overjoyed. India played this Test without top-ranked Jasprit Bumrah. He was featured in only three matches of the 5-Test series. Siraj played all five Tests and took 23 wickets at an average of 32.43. Smith and Overton failed to collect runs at their Surrey ground.

The weather was favorable to the Indian bowlers when the match started on Monday morning. Overton famously hit Krishna's first ball for a four and it delighted the English fans in large numbers. Soon after, he hit the next ball for a four. Siraj started bowling from the pavilion end and Smith was 'beaten' twice in the process. In the third ball, Siraj made him 'cut behind'.

In this situation, England reached the position of 347 runs after losing 7 wickets. Siraj then bowled Overton LBW. Kumar Dharmasena's decision was upheld due to an 'umpire call'.

Harry Brooks scored 111 runs and Joe Root scored 150 runs in the fourth day's match on Sunday. They shared a partnership of 195 runs for the fourth wicket and England seemed to be heading towards victory.

But with Brooks' wicket, England suffered a sort of collapse. The team lost 3 wickets for 36 runs. Root's wicket also remained in it. After England won the first Test at Headingley, India won the Edgbaston Test. England were victorious again at Lord's. However, in the fourth Test at Old Trafford, India was on the verge of defeat but managed to end in a draw.
