KATHMANDU (KAS) Nepal Cricket Association has released the income and expenditure details of the first season of Nepal Premier League (NPL). The central committee meeting held at Moolpani, Can, on Thursday, presented the details of the net profit of around 2.5 million from the first season of NPL.

The NPL Governing Council has decided to approve the income and expenditure presented to CAN at the next Central Committee meeting after studying it in depth. "After some members said that the accounts of NPL should be studied, it was decided to approve it in the next meeting," said Chumbi Lama, spokesperson of CAN, "The CAN meeting was mainly focused on NPL." We will make decisions on other matters within 1-2 days. CAN said that the total income from the first season of NPL was 270 million 69 million 64 thousand 818 rupees. A total of 20 million 15 million 73 thousand 559 rupees have been spent to organize the competition. According to this, 7 crore 53 lakh 91 thousand 259 rupees have been earned.

According to Can spokesperson Lama, 42 million 22 million 65 thousand 158 rupees have been earned from ticket sales of NPL and 6 million 6 million 53 thousand 594 rupees from commercial rights. Adding both of these is 10 crore 29 lakh 18 thousand 752 rupees. 50 percent of the proceeds after deducting its taxes were to be kept by the Cans and the remaining 50 percent were shared by the 8 franchise teams. From that, each franchise team will get 54 lakh 67 thousand 558 rupees. CAN provided 10 million each to the seven provinces out of the 30.16 million 50 thousand 789 rupees remaining after distributing 50 percent of the ticket sales to the franchise team.
