The Indian team has been selected for the South Asian qualifying tournament for the World Team Table Tennis Championship.

The Indian team has been selected by remaining undefeated in the round robin league of the competition held at the National Table Tennis Training Center in Lanchaur. 5 nations participated in men and women. On both sides, India won 3-0 against Maldives, Sri Lanka and Bangladesh along with Nepal and added 8 points. The Indian team has been selected for the World Team Table Tennis Championship to be held in England in September 2026.

For men, Nepal finished second with 7 points. Nepal's only defeat against India was against Sri Lanka 3-0, Maldives 3-1 and Bangladesh 3-2. Maldives and Sri Lanka came third.

In women's category, Nepal came third along with Maldives. Nepal, which scored 6 points, defeated two nations and the results of the two nations were handed over. After defeating Maldives and Bangladesh by 3-0, Nepal lost 3-0 to India and 2-3 to Sri Lanka. Sri Lanka finished second with 7 points.

Sanyog Kapali, Ruvin Maharjan, Rajeev Chikbanjar and Gananjay Dahal competed in men's and Vianka Rai, Ivana Thapa, Navita Shrestha and Yoongi Poudel competed in women's. Mohandas Basukala was the head coach and Sanjivkumar Dhungel and Sandhya Shakya were in charge of the coaches. The winners of the

competition were awarded by the member-secretary of the National Sports Council (Rakhep), Tanklal Ghising, the president of the organizing association, Brijendra Bahadur Hamal and others. 34 players participated in the two-day tournament, 10 from India, 8 each from Nepal, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh and Maldives. Bhutan and Pakistan did not participate.
