England won the Women's Euro 2025 title by defeating Spain on Sunday while creating a new football history. While defending the title as the defending champions, England won the tiebreaker 3-1.

The final in Basel ended in a 1-1 draw after regulation and extra time. Chloe Kelly scored the decisive goal in the penalty shootout. Spain missed three consecutive penalties.

Two of those shots were saved by English goalkeeper Hannah Hampton. Spain took the lead in the first half with Marina Caldenteri's goal. After that, Elena Russo equalized for England in the second half.

This is the first time that England have won any major title on foreign soil. This was also a great achievement for Sarina Weghman, the coach of England. She won the European title for the third consecutive time for two different teams.
