Nepal runner-up after losing to Bangladesh

Nepal has been limited to the runners-up of the U-20 SAFF Women's Championship 2025 after being defeated by the Bangladesh team 4-0 on Monday.

To win the title, Nepal needed a decisive victory over Bangladesh in the last and unannounced final match of the tournament.

But the home team proved to be strong in the match at Bashundhara Kings Arena in Dhaka. Sagorika was the hero in their impressive victory and scored four goals including a hat-trick. She is also a member of the Bangladesh national team and scored goals in the 8th, 51st, 58th and 77th minutes of the game.   After this result of the

double round robin tournament, Bangladesh won all six matches and took the top spot with 18 points. Nepal was limited to 12 points and remained in second place. Nepal lost both matches against Bangladesh.

Nepal was easily victorious over Bhutan and Sri Lanka. Bhutan has 6 points and Sri Lanka has 0 points in the tournament which has a total of four teams participating. Bhutan defeated Sri Lanka 5-0 in the first match of the day. Both teams received by Bhutan were against Sri Lanka.
