Bangladesh tops SAFF Women's U-20 Championship with crucial win over Nepal

Nepal lost 3-2 to Bangladesh in the SAFF Women's U-20 Championship on Sunday after Bangladesh scored in the last shot of the match. With this win, Bangladesh has become a strong contender for the title. But there will be an opportunity for Nepal to come back in the ongoing tournament based on double round robin.
In the final match of the four-team tournament, Bangladesh and Nepal will once again face each other and this will probably decide the champion team. With the win, Bangladesh have 6 points from two matches and are at the top. Nepal and Bhutan are on the same three points each. Mrs. Trishnarani Sarkar scored the decisive goal for Bangladesh when the match between the two strong teams of the
tournament was heading towards an exciting draw. She scored in the eighth minute of second half injury time. That was game over.
Before that, Nepal brought the game to a 2-2 draw from the position of trailing by two goals. But Nepal failed to stop the Bangladesh attack at the last moment. Both teams were reduced to 10-10 players after the second half in the match played at Dhaka's Bashundhara Kings Arena.
Nepal's Simran Rai and Bangladesh's Sagarika were forced to leave the field on straight red cards. In the 13th minute of the match, Bangladesh took the lead with the help of Sina Jahan Sikha's goal. After this victory, Bhutan opened the account of points. Sri Lanka, after losing for the second time in a row, was limited to zero points and remained at the bottom of the four teams. Bangladesh will face Bhutan in the next match. Nepal will play against Sri Lanka.
