Nepal AFC Women's Asian Cup Qualifier was defeated by the host Uzbekistan in a penalty shootout on Saturday.

After sharing the points with 3-3 goals at the scheduled time, both teams had the same 7-7 points . A direct penalty shootout was held for the result . Both Nepal and Uzbekistan won the same 2 matches. Nepal lost 4-2 in

penalties. With this defeat, Nepal's journey to reach the Asia Cup in Australia next year has come to a complete halt.

Nepal was trailing 3-1 until the first half. But by the time 20 minutes of the second half had passed, Nepal had added two goals to tie the game 3-3. Uzbekistan was among 10 players .

Captain Savitra Bhandari scored all three goals from Nepal. She had earlier scored a hat-trick against Laos and Sri Lanka.   In the

penalty, Savitra's first shot hit the pole, while goalkeeper Anjana Ranamar's fourth shot was saved by the opposing goalkeeper Maftuna, ending Nepal's journey. Before that, while all four players from Uzbekistan scored goals, only Geeta Rana and Savita Ranamar from Nepal scored on penalties.
