President of Nepal Olympic Committee (NOC) Jeevanram Shrestha has put forward a proposal to draw a clear guideline together with the government and NOC to end the current controversy in Nepali sports.

NOC President Shrestha made the proposal at the 'Sports Dialogue' organized by Nepal Sports Journalists Forum (NSJF) on the occasion of the Olympic Day on Sunday regarding Nepal's participation in the Olympics. He said, 'If the problem of Nepali sports is to be solved forever, let the government and the Olympic Committee sit together and prepare guidelines. Create a clear outline of the work to be done by the Ministry of Sports, the National Sports Committee, the Olympic Committee and the National Sports Associations. If this happens, the duties and responsibilities of each agency will be clear. There will be no prejudice against anyone.'

Since the new election of NOC last December, the distance between the government and NOC has increased. The government has locked the office of NOC after accusing Shrestha of conducting the election in violation of the Sports Development Act. However, the International Olympic Committee (IOC) has already recognized the election.

Shrestha said that the NOC can use flexibility to resolve the current dispute as a disagreement. He said, 'Sports cannot develop as long as there is conflict, so it should be resolved soon. NOC is ready to bend as much as it has to for the development and upliftment of Nepali sports and athletes.' Tasi Ghale, the president of Nepal Golf Association, who represented the National Sports Association in the

sports dialogue, said that the associations are being 'sandwiched' due to the conflict between Rakhep and the Olympic Committee, and said that when participating in international competitions, international sports laws should be followed, which is possible only through the Nepal Olympic Committee.

He insisted that this ongoing 'mustache war' should be abandoned and sports associations were killed by this conflict. How many unions have budget cuts? Which is definitely not a good thing.'

Similarly, Santoshi Shrestha, an Olympic runner, said that the athletes were loved by all the Olympic Committee, but the athletes were killed by the controversy. She said that rather than being known as an Olympian, a favorable environment should be prepared to be known as an Olympic medalist. She said that before winning a medal in the Olympics, the sports body should focus on how to qualify for the Olympics.

Similarly, NSJF President Niranjan Adhikari welcomed the fact that Saltoun NOC is ready to move forward flexibly in the event of the dispute between the government and the Olympic Committee on the coordination of the forum and said that the forum will take initiatives to end the dispute by conducting such dialogue programs with the Ministry of Sports and Sports.
