The second edition of Franchise Women's Volleyball League will be held in the third week of August. Organizer Infinity Dreams Pvt Ltd has announced the official date of the second Vatsalya Everest Women's Volleyball League (EWVL) on Friday. According to Infinitini, the competition will be held in Kathmandu from August 20 to 28.
Snevi Chapagain, CEO of Infinity Dreams, has informed that since the Nepal Volleyball Association has given formal approval to hold the competition on that date, the preparations have been advanced accordingly.
She said that the enthusiastic success of the first edition of the competition organized with the slogan 'Now it's women's turn' has inspired her to start preparations for the second edition. CEO Chapagai said that they feel that starting a women's league of volleyball, which is the national sport of Nepal, is the beginning of a new chapter in the field of Nepali women's sports. As in the first edition of the
competition, this year also 6 franchise teams will participate. Each team will be allowed to sign 3 foreign players. Last year, players from 9 nations played in the Everest Women's League. Players from India, America, Greece, Russia, Thailand, Turkey, Bulgaria, Tunisia and Kazakhstan were contracted to different teams.
The organizer claims that this is the first franchise league of women's volleyball in Asia. Chapagain said that she believes that she will play an important role in the competition to encourage and professionalize the talented female volleyball players of Nepal. The former winner of the competition is Karnali Yashvij.
