The National Nekos Cup Women's Volleyball Tournament has started in Hetounda from Saturday under the organization of Nepal Sports Center (Nekos).
Teetip New Diamond and Nepal Police Club won the opening match of the tournament. Diamond defeated the Armed Police Forces (APF) and Police Bagmati Province in straight sets. Diamond defeated Armed in straight sets 27-25, 25-15 and 25-17. Police defeated Bagmati in straight sets 25-1, 25-4 and 25-8.
Hetaunda-4 Mayor of Hetaunda sub-metropolitan city Meenakumari Lama inaugurated the ongoing competition at the volleyball court at Huprachaur. Six teams from Nepal Police Club, Nepal APF Club, New Diamond Youth Sports Club, Madhesh, Gandaki and Bagmati provinces are participating in the competition. The winner will get Rs 5 lakh, the runner-up will get Rs 3 lakh, the third place will get Rs 1 lakh and the fourth place will get Rs 51,000. The best player in
category will get 5 thousand rupees. The competition to be held till June 11 will be on the basis of league less knockouts.
