The National Women's Volleyball Tournament is being held in Hetaunda from Saturday under the organization of Nepal Sports Center (NECOS). Organizers have informed through a press conference in Hetaunda on Friday that all the preparations for women's volleyball to be held in the name of Nekos Cup have been completed.
Anil Kumar Rizal, the chairman of the organizer Nepal Sport Center informed that six teams from Nepal Police Club, Nepal APF Club, New Diamond Youth Sports Club, Madhesh Pradesh, Gandaki Pradesh and Bagmati Pradesh will participate in the tournament to be held at the volleyball court at Hetaunda-4 Huprachaur. According to him, the winner of the competition will receive a trophy of Rs 5 lakh, the runner-up Rs 3 lakh, the third runner-up Rs 1 lakh and the consolation prize Rs 51 thousand. He said that the best player in the category will be given a trophy with 5000 rupees in cash. The competition, which will be conducted until the 11th, will be conducted on the basis of Leaguecom Knockout.
"There is a plan to continue this NECOS sports competition, which was started every year, in the coming years," President Rizal said, "All the preparations for the competition have been completed. The women's volleyball tournament will be inaugurated by Meenakumari Lama, mayor of Hetaunda sub-metropolitan city, on Saturday at 3 pm.'
Along with the national women's volleyball, there will also be a skateboard competition in Hetaunda. According to the organizers, the winner of the skateboard competition will receive 10,000, the runner-up will receive 5,000 and the third runner-up will receive a certificate along with 3,000 cash. The event's publicity coordinator Saphal Adhikari informed that the organizers estimate that the cost of both the events will be around 80 lakh rupees. Officials of the organizers were present at the press conference.
