Alina won gold in karate solo kata

Elina Thing of Kirtipur municipality has won the gold medal in women's single kata of karate in Kathmandu district wide sports.

Elina defeated Prasanna Phuyal of Tarkeshwar Municipality in the final at the National Table Tennis Training Center in Lainchour on Wednesday. Bandana Tamang of Nagarjuna Municipality and Misty Shrestha of Ward 26 of Kathmandu Metropolitan City came in third. The top three winners received 30,000, 15,000 and 5,000 respectively.

Nagarjuna team of Sonam Sherpa, Samiksha Dhungana, Monica Lama, Ayusha Pradhan and Manisha Lama came first in women's team kumite. Mahima Rai, Ashika Rai, Diya Tamang, Nanu Chaudhary and Ruksana Danuwar from Kathmandu Metropolitan City-31 came second. Tikamaya Jimmy, Doma Tamang, Ivan Zelina Basnet, Yansu Thokar and Ayusha Timalsina from Gokarneshwar and Karuna Gadel, Anu Moktan, Elina Tamang, Pratishka Tamang and Salina Tuladhar from Tarkeshwar came third. 50,000 for the first, 25,000 for the second and 10,000 for the third.

karate coordinator Santosh Shrestha said that 80 athletes competed in two events for women in the two-day competition.  

Similarly, Kamanpa Ward 26 and Ward 13 have reached the semi-finals in men's futsal. Ward 26 defeated Ward 12 with a score of 9-1 at the Lainchour playground. Ward 13 won 4-3 against Ward 14.  Taekwondo will start from Thursday as part of

sports. According to Gaurav Rajak, Taekwondo coordinator, there will be competition in 10-10 competition for men/women. 259 players will participate.

The two-day tournament will be played at the National Table Tennis Training Center in Lanchaur.
