Trained sports teachers have been posted in secondary schools under Shikhar Municipality. The municipality assigned 24 teachers to the school after 5 days of sports training. The teachers working in the school were given a 5-day capacity development training on sports.

The training was organized with the aim of developing the capacity of teachers working in secondary schools and basic schools operating up to class 8 under the municipality. In the

training, training was given on administrative and managerial aspects of athletics, volleyball, kabaddi and sports. In the training which was conducted for 5 days, 3 trainers of different categories were arranged. 24 teachers from the city participated in the capacity development training. The skills development training covered theoretical and practical aspects of the game, rules, exercises, etc. Participating teachers were given hands-on training.

Mayor of Shikhar Municipality, Dilig Bahadur Balayer, said that along with education, the responsibility of making students disciplined and persevering through sports has also been added to the shoulders of trained teachers.

Nagar Deputy Chief Sunita Rawal Zora said that the training was organized as she felt that sports were also necessary for students along with studies. Chief Administrative Officer Harindra Kumar Shrestha said that the tendency of children to stay indoors and play digital games and not to be interested in outdoor games is increasing.
