District level 15th President Running Shield competition has started from Thursday in Beljhundi. Lumbini Chief Minister Chetnarayan Acharya has inaugurated the competition.
Addressing the opening ceremony, Chief Minister Acharya mentioned that the potential of sports tourism is increasing and should be taken as a positive aspect. Stating that the contribution of the sports sector to the overall development of the province is important, he informed that the government is serious about the development of sports infrastructure, production of players and conducting regular competitions.
The sports tourism environment is expanding. I believe that this will contribute to the development of the province as a whole. All games are given equal priority.'
Remembering that the President's Running Shield competition played a significant role in producing new players from the school level, he suggested to organize it more and prepare an environment for the players to achieve excellence. Players from all ten municipalities of the district are participating in the
competition.
