In the competition organized by Himalaya Expedition Company, he covered the distance of 42 km from Everest Base Camp to Namche in 3 hours 50 minutes 26 seconds and won the first place.
Known as the unique marathon held at the highest altitude in the world, this competition was organized on the occasion of the 72nd anniversary of the successful ascent of Mount Everest. According to the organizer Himalaya Expeditions, the competition has played an important role in the promotion of Himalayan sports tourism.
Gopal Tamang of Ramechhap finished the race in 3 hours 52 minutes 30 seconds and won the second place, while Arjun Kulung of Solukhumbu's Mahakulung rural municipality ward number 1 finished the race in 4 hours 2 minutes 35 seconds and won the third place. The strong presence and success of Nepali runners in the competition has demonstrated the adventure sports ability of the Himalayan region. According to the organizers, a plan has been made to increase international participation by making the competition more extensive in the coming year.
