IPL Qualifier now exciting

The Indian Premier League (IPL) cricket Qualifier 1 run has become more exciting after Punjab Kings suffered a 6-wicket defeat against Delhi Capitals on Saturday. For the third day in a row, three teams that secured a place in the playoffs were defeated.

Gujarat Titans are at the top with 18 points with only one match to play. Punjab and Royal Challengers Bangalore have 17 points each and Mumbai Indians have 16 points. 

There is a provision that the top two teams will reach the qualifiers. 

After losing the toss, Punjab, who were invited to bat first, scored 206 runs after losing 8 wickets in the scheduled 20 overs. Delhi gave a bad shock to Punjab by scoring 208 runs in 3 balls. Sameer Rizvi scored an unbeaten 58 off 25 balls and Karun Nair scored 44 runs off 27 balls for Delhi to win. Rizvi hit 3 fours and 5 sixes and Nair hit 5 fours and 2 sixes. 

Tristan Stubbs remained unbeaten on 18 runs with 2 fours off 14 balls. Opener KL Rahul hit 35 with 6 fours and 1 six off 21 balls and captain Faf du Plessis remained unbeaten on 33 runs with 2 fours and 1 six off 15 balls. Delhi ended the season with 15 points in 14 games. 

Before that, Shreyas Iyer scored 53 and Marcus Stoinis scored an unbeaten 44 for Punjab. Delhi's Mustafizur Rahman took 2 wickets.
