The ninth edition of the Prime Minister's Cup NVA women's and men's volleyball league will be held in Pokhara from Thursday. The Nepal Volleyball Association informed through a press conference on Tuesday that the tournament will be held from May 8 to 15 in the multi-purpose covered hall at Pokhara Stadium.

President of Nepal Volleyball Association Jitendra Bahadur Chand informed that 14 teams, 8 for men and 6 for women, will participate in the tournament. On the men's side, Help Nepal Sports Club, APP Club, Tribhuvan Army Club, Nepal Police Club, Gandaki Pradesh Volleyball Association, Sudurpaschim Pradesh, Koshi Pradesh and Manimukund Volleyball Club will participate, he said.

For women, Nepal Police Club, APF Club, New Diamond Youth Sports, Tribhuvan Army Club, Everest Volleyball Club and Karnali Pradesh Volleyball Team will participate. Participating teams will be allowed to include up to 3 foreign players.  In the

competition, the winning teams of both male and female categories are given equal prizes. The first, second and third place winners will get 8 lakh, 4 lakh and 2 lakh rupees respectively. The best player in both the categories will get 50/50 thousand rupees.

The best libero, server, blocker, lifter, spiker and coach will get 25/25 thousand rupees each, said the vice president of the association, Yam Bahadur Gurung.  The association has arranged accident insurance for all the players participating in the tournament. The association estimates that it will cost 90 lakh rupees to complete the competition.
