Nepal lost to Thailand by 78 runs in the final match of the Super-Three under the ICC Women's Twenty20 World Cup Asia Qualifiers.
Thailand had given Nepal a target of 159 runs in today's match at Terdthai Cricket Ground in Thailand. In reply, Nepal could score only 80 runs in the scheduled 20 overs, losing 9 wickets.
Kavita Kunwar contributed the most 24 runs for Nepal. Similarly, Rajamati Airi scored 20 runs unbeaten and Rubina Chhetri scored 12 runs. Other players failed to score runs in double figures.
Onnicha Kamchomphu took the most four wickets for Thailand. Similarly, Thipacha Puthavong took three wickets and Suleporn Laomi took one wicket.
Thailand, who lost the toss and were invited to bat first, scored 158 runs losing two wickets in the scheduled 20 overs.
Nannapat Koncharoenkai scored an unbeaten 50 off 28 balls with the help of eight fours for Thailand. Similarly, Nataya Buchtham scored 50 runs off 42 balls with five fours. Apisara Suvanchorathi contributed 29 runs and Naththakan Chantham contributed 15 unbeaten runs.
Rajamati Airi and Manisha Upadhyay equally took one wicket each for Nepal.
Nepal and Thailand have already reached the global qualifiers for the World Cup. In the first match, both defeated UAE and secured a place in the global qualifiers.
