11 athletes from Nepal are going to participate in the 21st AKF Senior Asian Senior Karate Championship to be held in Tashkent, Uzbekistan.

Players including Erica Gurung, the silver winner of the previous edition, will participate in the championship to be held from 9th to 11th June.

Erica won silver in the 20th edition held in Hangzhou last year. He won the first silver for Nepal in the Asian Championship history. She lost to Vietnamese player Nyo Ghan Thi Nguyen in the final and was limited to silver. Other players participating in

are Sonim Manandhar, Sajan Moktan, Meen Bahadur Tamang, Santosh Shrestha, Mohammad Sheikhu Alam, Tenzing Sherpa, Sanumaya Thing, Anjali Maharjan, Savina Shrestha and Nirupa Dong Tamang.

Kushal Shrestha is the head coach, Mandekaji Shrestha is the trainer and Kishore Bhattarai is the team manager. The karate team was appointed by National Sports Council Member Secretary Tanklal Ghising on Monday.
